A nice place to bond with your kids - The Explorer Kid

School holiday is approaching. Parents who are thinking of bringing your kids out for fun can consider Explorer Kid @ Ehub located at Downtown East.

Brought Little Vance there after having dinner at Different Taste. We came across Explorer Kid a few times when we went Downtown East (a spot which we frequent visit on weekend) but never have the intention to bring Little Vance in as we were afraid that he was still too young for it then. So straight after he turned 2. We brought him there as we know he will have a good time playing and overcoming the hurdles at the playground and we know he can do it.

After spending a wonderful evening at Explorer Kid, three of us were super tired playing and shouting away. Little Vance really enjoyed himself and he kept wanting to go through the hurdles again and again. As a parent, we took turns to accompany Little Vance through every single station. Trust me, it's really tiring!

Besides a tiring workout for the 3 of us, Hubby and I realised that Little Vance was given the chance to develop his motor skills and self esteem. When we were in the tunnel, it was Little Vance who led us to the other end. As a mummy, I'm very happy for Vance. It's like.. "Dear, he did it himself!" shouting happily away to my dearest Hubby.

Not only that, it allowed us to be bonded together - AS A FAMILY!

Do check out their website and my advice is sign up the membership for your little one as it will be cheaper in that way. I will not go into details as there are different charges if you are a member of NTUC.

Have fun!

Learning resources for your little one

Little Vance has just turned 2 years old in September. Has enrolled him for the playgroup 2010 by Tots House. Anxious and excited Mummy is wondering how to prepare Little Vance for the new start.

Has went to bookstores to check out the enrichment books for Junior to practice on. However, there are tons and tons of books on preschool learning. They are either Thinking Skills, Mix and Match, Phonics or Colouring, etc.

Such resources can be found on the Internet too. So I began my online search and came across this wonderful website with lots of learning resources.

Kizclub has lots of wonderful learning resources for kids. From ABCs, phonics, Crafts, Story and Props, Nursery Rhymes to Flash Cards. the resources from Kizclub are free and it's download-able. They are either in PDF format or in interactive format. Mummies can just play then over the computer and let your little one listen to the stories.

I feel that getting resources from the Internet are worthwhile especially when they are free. Of course, we need to let Junior get in touch with books first but at times, resources from the Internet cannot be found on books.

Enjoy Junior's learning! :)

Who says owning a car need lots of $$$$?

Came across this article sharing tips on how to save money for drivers out there.

1. THE OUTSIDE LANE
Patronising a reputable "outside" workshop instead of the official service centre could slash your car's servicing bills. Using cheap and good but "unbranded" lubricants and fluids would save you even more money.

2. BOOT CAMP
Unless you're a door-to-door salesman, there shouldn't be much junk in your trunk. Save fuel, and save money, by ditching that deadweight, which includes the spare tyre. Replace it with a puncture repair kit.

3. TRUMP CARDS
Sign up for a credit card that offers additional petrol discounts at a partnering station chain. Use your loyalty points to redeem fuel vouchers, which tend to be the best deal in redemption programmes.

4. OUT OF THIN AIR
Keeping your tyres properly inflated works like magic when it comes to your car's fuel efficiency, a major part of your running costs. A recent Shell survey showed that nearly 30 per cent of motorists don't know this.

5. PUMP ACTION
If your car can run perfectly on 95 or 92 octane petrol, pumping a higher and costlier grade is a waste of cash. If you refuel half-tank twice instead of a full tank at one go, your car's mileage is usually a bit better.

6. ELECTRONIC TIDBIT
Some EPS (Electronic Parking System) carparks charge in 15-minute or half-hour blocks. So drive out of these places at the "correct" times to avoid paying more than necessary. Per-entry flat fees are generally fair.

7. FREE THINKER
Free parking is the best parking so look out for those URA public carpark lots that are free after 5pm and those roads with single yellow lines where you can park for free between 7pm and 7am on weekdays.

8. IT ALL "ADS" UP
Did you know that you can sell your car's sheet metal as a mobile advertising space? A local company called Renvertising specialises in this unique business and has over 130 cars on its payroll.READ MORE

9. TAB DANCING
"Eat" at least 15 minutes every time you tear those tabs on a parking coupon and "earn money" from your "time deposit." The omnipresence of carpark wardens is probably an urban legend, in case you're wondering.

10. ROUTE WARRIOR
Electronic Road Pricing is potentially expensive if you don't plan your journey. Avoid, or minimise passing under lit-up ERP gantries and drive into town on weekdays during ERP's "happy hour" (10am to 12pm).

11. WASHING THE MACHINE
Every time you wash your car yourself, you save a few bucks that would otherwise go to that neighbourhood car wash. The going rate is $6, so if you wash your car weekly, you're saving over $300 a year. That's a lot of polish.

12. FLOOR PLAN
Always park at the lowest possible level in a multi-storey carpark. Every extra ramp you drive up (and down again later) is extra time spent and extra fuel burnt. In a basement carpark, always take the "highest" deck.

13. POOLING POWER
Car pools allow motorists on the same commute to share costs and also let them sell "taxi rides" to pre-arranged passengers. Making this possible are websites like www.carpoolking.com and www.carpool.sg

Papercraft activity for your little one

Besides getting toys for Junior, we can always search for DIY activities to engage them. Internet has dons to activities for Junior.

Searching for free resources has become one of my favourite past time now. After my discovery of this new toy for Junior, I have began to develop a strong interest in papercraft. It's not only for adults, children can create papercraft models as well.

There are lots of papercraft models on the Internet. Just google it and you will be able to find lots of them. Some of the websites which I frequent visit are Papercraftparadise, Cubeecraft and Macula. Do check them out and have find with your little ones. :)

Check out Burton from Zappos.com

Was shopping online and came across Burton's products from Zappos. They have quite a wide range of products selling online.

Photobucket

Photobucket

For those of you who are not familiar with Burton brand, here's a short introduction about Burton.

About Burton:

Photobucket

Burton Snowboards is a rider driven company solely dedicated to creating the best adult and kids’ snowboarding equipment on the planet. At Burton they stand sideways, sleep on floors in cramped resort hotel rooms. They get up early and go to sleep late. Burton has been mocked. They've been turned away from resorts that won't have snowboarders.

Burton is relentless. They dream snowboarding. They make it, break it and fix it. They create it. They destroy it. They wreck themselves day in and day out and yet they stomp that one trick or find that one line that keeps them coming back. They progress.

Burton has fueled the growth of adult and children’s snowboarding worldwide through its groundbreaking product lines, its grassroots efforts to get the sport accepted at resorts and its team of top adult, child, and teen snowboarders. Always looking forward, Burton even has a team comprised of children ages seven to fourteen whose purpose is to push the sport and kid’s snowboarding apparel to the next level.

Burton dominates the adult and kids’ snowboard industry worldwide with global headquarters in Burlington, Vermont and international offices in Innbruck, Austria and Tokyo, Japan.Jake Burton Carpenter has dedicated 30 years of his life to snowboarding. He founded Burton in 1977 and has played a vital role in transforming snowboarding from a backyard hobby to a world-class sport. In the early years, the business was based out of Jake's Vermont barn and he delivered boards out of his station wagon. Jake is Burton's most avid product tester and rides over 100 days per year.

After reading about Burton, now most probably you are more familiar with the brand. Now let's see what products they have. Actually, I'm quite attracted to the tops they are selling. The price is quite reasonable and if you will to purchase Burton's products through Zappos, you can actually enjoy free shipping which is stated on top of the page.

Free Shipping Both Ways!*
365-Day Return Policy
Let's now take a look at their trendy tops:

You can also narrow your choice by selecting which size, colour and even price base on your preference. Besides the trendy tops, they even have bags, belts, shoes and many more as wel l as for kids and men.
So when you are shopping nice clothings for yourself, at the same time you can purchase for your little one and your hubby. In cases like when you are unsure of the productand you want more information, you can actually check out the reviews written by other buyers who has bought the product before. This could help you in making purchase wisely and not out of impulse. I guess most ladies often shop impulsively... because I'm one of them! Let's see what reviews buyers wrote:

My second payout

Not much but at least something. Enough to bring Little Vance and Daddy Nick to Mcdonalds... lolx..

Yes. I just received my 2nd payout from Emailcashpro!

http://www.emailcashpro.com

Payment Proof

My 1st payout was by cheque and this time round I request payout through Paypal to save the admin fee.

Am working hard for my 3rd payout I believe it won't be long...

See how this guy earn $10 a day, $3650 per year through the paid program!

Secret Revealed!!!!

While going through the newsletter sent through by the paid program I used to join, I found this link on how to earn $10 per day!

Yes. $10 a day and $3650 a year without investing a single cent! And the game this guy introduced is called PATIENCE & DISCIPLINE.

Why is he sharing his secret? Reason being is because he wants you to be his referral. Simple as that.

After reading his sharing, the trick of earning lots of money from Neobux is through the renting of active referrals. Want to know more? Find out more here. How true? For you to find out!

Actually, I have joined Neobux (feel free to click, no hidden referral links here) a year ago but wasn't active as I feel that paid to click programs are quite time consuming. So I moved on to work as a Freelancer.

If you will to google Neobux, there are quite a number of articles and blogs talking about Neobux. Guess it's a real site- meaning its paying. But for how long it will last? No one knows! So do judge on your own. Don't invest too much money as I always believe investing money into such sites is very risky as you don't know when these sites will just close.

My first Fr3b package has arrived!

I was totally amazed by Sharon's adventures with Fr3b. She has received lots of samples from Fr3b.

In fact, I have actually joined Fr3b for quite some time but did not redeem any samples before until I wanted to try out the Bio essence Face Lifting cream. I have no idea where to get the sample not even from the Bio essence website until I thought of Fr3b.

To my surprise, they really have the sample for it. Woohoo~ After receiving the sample, I tried it immediately. I really enjoyed the cooling effect. It feels really great. After finish using the sample, I bought the actual product from Venus.

Besides this, I even redeemed other samples from Fr3b. The picture below shows the package I received from Fr3b.

When I was redeeming the samples, I got to know that their concept store is opening on the same week. However, I didn't have the chance the attend their opening as weekend is totally for Little Vance. So no time can be spared to go down to visit their opening.

To join this concept store, there's actually a fee of $28. After which, we are entitled to a wider range of samples. As the free Fr3b user can only redeem to limited samples. Not only that, we get to pay lesser postage fees. Better still, you can even drop by at the store to get the samples. Their store is at Stamford building which is very near to City Hall MRT.

Frankly speaking, I'm damn tempted to join. Why? - Because, they have HUGE range of samples which you can never imagine. They even have samples for FOOD! Cool right?

Another thing is, when you redeem the sample on Facial Mask, the sample pack is the actual size of the mask where you might need to spend a few dollars to get it but by getting from Fr3b, all you need is to pay for the postage.

One of the tips I would want to share is when you redeem for the samples. Don't redeem 1 product at a time. Because the default postage and handling fees starts from $1.50. Meaning, if you redeem only 1 sample, you have to pay $1.50 so the more samples, you redeem, like my case, I redeemed 4 samples, I only paid $2.00 for the postage and handling fees which I feel that it's quite reasonable.

Fyi, to redeem 1 sample you need 2 points. For every 5 referrals, you earn 1 point. To find out more info do check out Fr3b.

If you want to check out other Fr3b users review of Fr3b, do check out Sharon's adventures.

More people turning to work from home

An article from the Straits Times: More work from home

"Employees who work from home tend to be more satisfied with their work-life balance, particularly those who want more time for their kids or to care for elderly parents.

The practice tends to be more popular among larger companies and multinationals, according to human resource consultants."

For me, I personally feel that companies which are owned by Americans, they are more prone to allowing their staffs to work from home.

Elance.com is a good example where you can find lots of work from home jobs.

I do agree with the below illustration. If you work from home, you will have to bear the electricity bill. But if you work at the office, you are being paid and at the same time you need not bear any bills. So it really depends.

When you are working form home, you will need to discipline yourself in a way that you must stay focus and complete your work. There will be times where you just get so attracted to the Tc program or the bed just next to you where you want to enjoy a power nap.

Working from home is not really easy in the sense that you have to resist the temptations around you.

There might also be cases where your freelance boss don't pay you.

Mummies, out there can give it a try if financial allows you to stay income-less for a few months. If working from home works for you, that's great :)
